Why Send Out Cards Is My Number 1 Choice

Steve Pohlit International Business Turnaround and Real Estate Investment Coach

What Is Send Out Cards

SendOutCards is a young , debt-free company based in Salt Lake City, UT that offers users an amazing experience  by enabling them to send a physical greeting card  via the mail, straight from their computer, as easily as one can send an email.  Yes it is very easy to send a card and even very easy to create your own card with pictures you choose that are stored first on your computer then uploaded to your account on the Send Out Cards system. I personally love that feature and use it almost exclusively now.

The entire service is internet-based. Users can log on from any computer, anywhere in the world! SOC offers a constantly-updated catalog of over 13,000 cards in a myriad of categories to choose from OR a personalized card can be created using ANY digital image, logo, photo, etc.! Users are able to write messages in their own handwriting, using a submitted handwriting font with FOUR personal signatures… or customize a preset font with color, alignment and size options! Users can choose to include photos inside the card, as well! And the best part? Each card costs about 25% of  the price of a store-bought card and SOC prints it, addresses the envelope, stamps it and mails it for you! YES!

Why Is Send Out Cards My Number 1 Choice?

1. Sending a card feels really good. Everyone loves to receive a card. Often times I will include a gift from the growing collection books, food items, specialized gift baskets and more that is really easy to just click and add to the card that is being sent out for you.

Sending Positive Energy With Send Out Cards

2. For business, this is the best relationship building tool outside of a face to face meeting that I know of.   Nothing compares to sending a card for making an impact….nothing.!

3. Never forget a birthday, anniversary or other important dates.

4. Your entire holiday card list is taken  care of with a push of a button from your computer.

5. Did I mention how good you will feel when you send out a card.  I am participating in the gratitude challenge and I can’t say enough about it.

6. So my number one choice for a relationship building strategy is Send Out Cards because I feel great doing it and people love it.  Yes I recommend this for direct marketing campaigns.

7. There is a business model with Send Out Cards…it is a Network Marketing Company. It is the only Network Marketing Company where the cost of the product is actually less than a comparable product from a retail store and in many cases much less!

8. This is the only business opportunity I know of where the marketing is done by sending someone a card and expressing gratitude or wishing them a happy birthday. I mean “How Cool Is That?”

Carl's Jr. Very Effective Use of Social Media, Internet Marketing, Video, More

Carl’s Jr. has over 1100 locations with 772 in California. They have no locations in my current home state of Florida. However, because of my business consulting experience in the restaurant industry along with a controversial video commercial released by Carl’s several years ago, I became aware of this restaurant business. I learned it was  founded with the purchase of one hot dog cart for less than $500  in 1941.

While reviewing a Facebook  application recommended by a friend I noticed an ad on the site for Carl’s.  Of course I remembered the original video that was absolutely outrageous and wondered if they had posted it on Facebook.  (They did not.)  What I did notice was they have almost 68,000 fans, they are promoting a new sandwich, offering an incentive coupon and their fan page wall is extremely active.

I went a little deeper and clicked to their website.  I stayed there maybe 5-8 minutes watching all their video commercials. They are very entertaining. I registered for their newsletter. The visuals, sounds and messages of the videos and the images of the graphics are terrific. If there was a location nearby I would be a customer.  I also feel that the next time I visit the West Coast I will look them up. Their presentation is that good.

Carl’s Jr has links to Facebook, Twitter, YouTube and Flicker on their website.  I am not sure if they have expanded onto other social media sites. If  asked I would  recommend they be on every major social media venue. Clearly the visuals and sound are huge assets for their messages about their food.

Food isn’t the only attraction as evidenced by one YouTube video with Audriana Partridge in a hot gold bikini eating one of Carl’s Jr.’s famous sandwiches. This video has already been viewed over 545 thousand times with most others by Carl’s Jr.  being viewed in the range of 20 thousand.  Think about the value of one YouTube video being viewed over one half million times.

I did a brief review of Facebook to see if key competitors are using social media. Facebook members have activated McDonald’s and Wendy’s fan pages. Neither company seems to have an active Facebook presence.

I am a major advocate for using social media to build business profits. But here is the key as demonstrated by Carl’s Jr.: you have got to have a hook.  Carl’s is kicking butt in their ads for size, quality and price vs. McDonald’s.  Then they add amazing visuals, incentives, and are definitely on top of their game when it comes to strengthening social relationships.  So they are hitting on all cylinders including the use of a well toned body wearing little excited about a huge order of food. What an amazing contrast and Carl’s Jr. pulls it off marvelously just as they did a few years back with a famous celebrity promoting their food wearing near nothing on the hood of a car.  It was amazing.

On video and in pictures, Carl’s Jr. looks like  great tasting food. I assume that is the case with more than 1,100 locations. Of course that is key for sustained growth in same store sales as well as sustained growth in the number of locations. Somehow I suspect the food experience is great and I will confirm that one of these days. If you have eaten at Carl’s Jr. please share your experiences including what you ordered.

Great  example Carl’s Jr. of executing very well on fundamentals.

Sending you energy of health, happiness, prosperity

Is It A Recession? Is It A Depression? Doesn't Matter ….Stop Your Bitching and Moaning And Take Purposeful Action

The last thing my readers need is another economic analysis report or some suggestion that I or anyone else out there flapping their jaws really know all the facts about the reason for current climate.  Ladies and gentlemen. reading those headlines and spending time analyzing the crap in the news is a monumental waste of God given talent. Stop your bitching and moaning and take responsibility for what you have control over which is your life. All change starts with one person. Do you want to know who that person is?  Look in the mirror.

If your business is suffering, if you have lost your sources of cash flow, if you are feeling tired, down, stressed or in general not very good, recognize this: it is very true that the way you feel is absolutely a direct result of how you think.  Don’t believe it?  OK by me if you want to be a martyr.  For those of you that want to take responsibility here is a quick 5 Step Plan to move forward fast:

A Five Step Speed Action Course For Achieving Your Goals In Changing Economic Times:

1. Recognize that most people you meet and talk to are going to be bitching and moaning about something or multiple things. Don’t play in that sandbox.  There are a small group of people totally optomistic about the unlimited possibilities. These are the people you want to “hang out” with.  So you don’t know anyone like that?  I’ll tell you one source where I have met some wonderful people. Register for an account at www.Facebook.com  and www.twitter.com   You can begin by adding me (Steve Pohlit) as a friend and if you don’t think I am wonderful, you will soon find a large number of people who are.

2. Understand the dynamics of doing business are always changing. Since 1994 with the introduction of the Internet browser, the rate of advancement continues to accelerate. Do you remember a few years ago where Google Adwords was all the rage for on line marketing? Do you know the impact social networking is having on the Adwords market?  When you look at the financial results of Google the impact may not seem obvious because Google is still the 800 pound gorilla.  But if you become active in the social networking markets like Facebook, MySpace, YouTube and nearly daily growing rate of others you will see changing trend lines. I recently activated a site www.youtubemastery.net  that begins to teach people how to use video to market their business and products on line. I can’t imagine recommending that even as recently as three years ago. I know at that point there were some progressive internet marketers using video but to encourage brick and morter businesses to use it would not have been very credible for me at that time. Now it would be irresponsible if I didn’t recommend it and teach it.

3. Nothing is the same forever…nothing.  I am very familiar and experienced with using eBay stores as an adjunct to selling physical products using internet sites and retail stores. Several years ago the eBay model seemed to be an unmovable foundation for the auction business. In the last two weeks I was asked for my expert evaluation of a global trading platform that is very popular in the Europe. The person who contacted me was considering making a commitment of money and time to this business that is scheduled to enter the US.  When I started studying this model I was amazed to discover that most of it was a completely new way of lookng at auctions and while I am not personally a person who has an interest spending time on landing an eBay deal,  I can see myself playing in this new areana.  Now since its origin is Europe, I had some difficulty understanding it. Once I thought I “got it” I developed an explanaton which you can see at www.dublian.com   The point is whether you are a multi-billion dollar business, an entrepreneur, or an employeed person with a company you feel is well established for the long term, don’t fall into the trap of complacency.  I’ll bet 6,500 people employed by Wachovia felt their position was secure until they discovered in the papers that their employer lost over $8 billion and was cutting their job. Nothing is permanent.  My strongest advise with every business is the same: be very aggressive in taking care of current customers and growing market share.  Do you think that advice would change under different economic conditions? It hasn’t and it won’t

4. If you are running a business with employees you should be very consistent on your expectatons for performance. It seems that when revenue and profits are under pressure, management starts taking a close look at employee performance. In some cases they don’t even care they just cut.  Just cutting is rarely justified and is analogeous to removing a body part if you want to lose weight. That approach is just plain stupid. There is no change in the guidance here: The formula is A-P=V  which stands for actual minus plan = variance.  There must be a person accountable for each key variance in your business. That is how their performance is measured. Is it a simple as that. Yes and no which is why companies engage my me and my firm for assistance.

5. If you are repsonsible for a business that is really feeling financial and cash flow stress, every day you wait to call for assistance is a waste of very precious time needed to define and execute a turnaround plan. I have written about this before and will write about it again because it is a fact. Please visit www.turnaround-consulting-firm.com or call me direct right now at 727-587-7871.

The blessing of a changing economy is that is results in an opportunity to re-evaulate how you are running your business and your life.  The people reading this either accept that they are responsible for what happens to them or blames everyone else. For a long time I had the mind-set it wasn’t me. Four years ago I concluded that mind-set was completely incorrect.

Accept The Responsibility and Take Action Starting Now!!

Sending all my readers the energy of wellness, peace and abundance.

Don't Ever Delete A Domain…Ever

Last week I received an email from a lady inquiring about an order that she had placed. Her order was for a popular product but one whose spelling I wanted to double check. So I “Googled” the product name …and I about feel off my chair. A site that I created in 1996 and is one of the more “visual dysfunctional sites” designed by current standards, was number 2 on Google for this search term.

There is very little I do with the site and yet the orders role in for a quite a few products. They do because the descriptions are accurate and the products are available. Most importantly, in my view, the site has been live and active for 10 years – never down.

Six weeks ago I received a call from a lady who was searching for a consultant to help her business in Miami. I asked her how she found me and she said from a site that I created three years ago. If you are like me I often get an idea, set up a site and instead of working the site like I should, I forget about it. This is one of those sites. After reviewing the scope of this project I referrd this work to friend of mine who lives closer to the client. The proposal we submitted was accepted and right now this project is generating a lot of money each week for my friend. This all started with a “stale” site.

Update it, don’t update it or sell it but never delete it. There are links from nearly all the sites I have linking back to a primary site. Now, as I write more articles and develop content for programs like The 10 Minute MBA and Blogging For Profits there are even more links. This content is out there forever once published. Yes the written word may be picked up by article directories and published on other web sites. However, it is has been my experience people are more likely to find you from a site that is live with relevant content even when the site is almost as old as the html browser technology itself.

Project Update:

I normally post articles to my sites and Steve Reports several times a week. Recently I have been researching how to use tools that I have access to as a result of several memberships. Tools specifically designed to help companies market their business on line. As a result, my publication activity has gone down. I am back. Not that my research is done. It never is.

What did I learn? As an example, I have developed the skills to add relevant content to blogs automatically. Steve Reports is not one of the blogs where I use this technique. Here is an example of one that is: Ask The Consultant. This is my site and is one of the five I have worked on in the past month. If you visit that site and click on the blog link, you might notice the postings are related to the articles that automatically drip to this site.

Updating my site and blog automatically with relevant content every day or two has been aa goal of mine since February 2006. Now it is happening and I can turn my attention more to the quality of content.

I learned the basics of Camtasia and developed an on line presentation marketing a new service being offered by a company to Corporations. We are early in the process but it looks like this is going to be extremely successful. I am using Camtasia to develop an entire training program at The 10 Minute MBA

The church I attend records every service and CD’s can be purchased for $5.00. Just this past week I uploaded one of my favorite messages to a website I developed. This site is increasing the visibility of the church on line and the visibility of the minister. I am delighted to use internet marketing talents to increase the membership of this church.

The tools I am using are having a positive impact on all the sites I am working on. The Alexa rankings are moving up fast. My PR is improving as well. I don’t have any PR 5’s yet but I am confident I will this year. I rank 21 on Google for a highly competitive search term for my main business and I am confident I will be on the first page for that one in 60 days. When that happens the phone with companies requesting consulting services will be ringing off the hook. My goal is for the customer to find me. That way I can be even more selective on who I work with.

What’s the message? I have developed the skills to manage my sites. I have developed the skills to add video and mp3 recordings. Three years ago, I could do none of this. Are all of these skills necessary? They are if you have a passion for helping companies improve their business performance and absolutely know using the Internet as a key tool for growing business revenue and profits is critical. Are you continuing to develop your skills in an area you are passionate about?

So that is a thumbnail sketch of just a few of the projects I have been involved with. What about you? What are you learning? How do you plan to become better at what you do? “Do what you love and love what you do” is my goal. I suggest to you that is a great mission for everything in your life.

In about four months I’ll give you an end of the year update. Between now and then look for a lot more very valuable insight on achieving business goals and enjoying your life while doing it.

May you and yours experience permanent prosperity in all areas of you life.

How To Hit Any Goal: A "Cast In Stone" Success Formula

I recently began working with a business that is another example of a company with enormous potential being held back by a culture that worked when the business was much smaller. The owner discussed with me all the barriers and roadblocks he is experiencing. He expressed doubt that I would be able to break through with the existing team.

In less than two week the owner said ” I see us making great progress – keep it going” What did I do? What I always do – applied the “Success Formula” What is that? It is no secret. Mark Joyner details the process in the first couple of chapters of Simpleology 101 that is FREE

In a Nutshell:

Target-Workplan-Action-Reaction

You cannot achieve anything unless you have a clear definition of what it is that you want. Once you define the target, you must develop a detailed workplan that is time phased and is designed to get you to your destination. None of this is any good unless you take action, measure your action against expected results and modify your plan based on the variances you are seeing.

Plan-Actual-Variance My consulting clients have heard me say this often and demand they do it. After all the bitchin and moanin they get to work and begin to see the results. Gradually you see more and more smiles.

Is this tough? No! The hard part is like anything else. The Process requires consistent application and that takes discipline.

That is why there is big market for consultants and the best consultants are the ones that work with people until their habits change.

By the way, now that you have read this you still need Simpleology 101 because Mark also teaches discipline and does a great job of it. Click Here for Simpleology 101

Update: I just watched a video by Rich Shefren that is very good and addresses this topic with a focus on Internet Marketers Here is the link http://www.strategicprofits.com/momentumvideo/play/

Possibly Rich Shefren's Most Valuable Sentence From His Live Presentation

The live feed was near perfect. After a few introductory comments Rich said ” work on yourself first, then build revenue and once you gain momentum, focus on your staff.” He provided valuable content for the remaining two hours of the live feed. He covered it very briefly but the statement was powerful…WORK ON YOUSELF FIRSt!! More on that in another post. For now back to the show.

In every presentation there are debatable points. However thousands, with me included, are grateful for the education Rich delivered using this “no money required” format. For those of you who think this presentation was free then you missed Rich’s point on the value of your time.

As a seasoned business development consulting professional (www.stevepohlit.com) I have helped many companies implement most of the techniques Rich teaches. I have many success stories. Few are with name brands. On the other hand Rich has a long list of name brand clients. He is a wizard at marketing. Look at the list of people who gave him testimonials. He earned them all I am sure. One Rich presented was from Jay Abraham. If anyone knows the reputation of Jay Abraham you will understand the value of Jay’s testimonial.

I have been paying close attention to the marketing strategies of the well known names including Rich. I need to step my promotions up a number of notches. How about you? A major takeaway for me is that it makes no difference how good you are, if nobody knows it then you can’t help them. Another one is his emphasis on evaluating what you do vs. having someone else do it. Maybe like me you have heard this before. I don’t know where I learned it. Maybe it was from one of the notables like, Jay Abraham, Dan Kennedy, Ken McCarthy, John Reese and the list goes on. Rich delivered an excellent slant on the value of our time.

This seminar was a great marketing example. Rich Shefren had a notable list of JV partners promote this. What was their motivation? Seems to me it is the sharing of the revenue from people who signed up for his backend program. But they wouldn’t have done it if Rich didn’t have the credibility.

Now it wasn’t that hard to promote. After all, how many seminar leaders run a live two hour feed from the seminar The result was a represented 10,000 people tuning in. Of course I have no idea what the conversion rate was. However, if 100 people joined, well do the math. Regardless of the conversion, Rich proved the technology works. Will it replace live seminars? Nope!! But imagine the possibilities. Think of a major event from a coast opposite of where you live or from another country. I could see mini conferences gathering regionally to network in connection with the main event. Why not? JV Alert started with 19 people around a hotel conference table in Philadelphia. Now look at. We’ll see where this goes.

As an aside, I was at the first JV Alert meeting. I met Ken McCarthy, Allyn Cutts, Cody Moya “Mr. Road Trip” Sterling Valentine and more. Every contact from that meeting will take my phone call and repond to my emails. Of course I will do the same. Value – priceless. You cannot replace that with a camera, screen and live feed. Speaking of Stearling – he is on the road again. Click here to see what he is up to.

There are a couple of techniques that Rich teaches that have not been ones that I have emphasized. Many of my clients have big issues that need addressed fast and often I don’t get the the process mapping phase. I will absolutely implement that with the newest company I am working with which is a $10 million business generating 80+% of it’s business on-line. It sources physical product internationally and in general is hugely successful. So why am I working with them? Simple, they can easily be ten time larger in terms of revenue and profits in 24 months. That is the target.

The content Rich offered in the streaming feed from his live seminar will help me. From a look at some of the comments at Strategic Profits allot of other people are happy as well. Thank you Rich, I am most appreciative for all the lessons.

May you and all permanently experience prosperous health, happiness and abundance

"That's Not Good!!" Very Important Information For Business Owners, Internet Marketers and Small Business Owners

Situation Room:

Revenues nearly doubled in one year to more than $14 million. Profits hardly moved from the previous year which and those profits barely broke $0. When I reviewed this information with the founder of the business, he looked me directly and sternly in the eye and said “That’s Not Good!” We then went onto discuss the changes being implemented to posture the company for making money.

Today

Are those changes working? Too early to tell because I know from experience many companies never continue following what they are taught. They revert to the “way they have done business in the past.”

I am a business development consultant. I am not a permanent fixture in companies I help. I have a long list of companies that are successful. I have a shorter list of companies that are not. What is the difference?

Commitment!! If I show you “How To Increase Profits by 30% or More In 90 Days or Less” and that happens, you are happy. When I tell you what we just did must continue each day, week and month, you begin to think about what you have to do to make that happen and some people conclude they do not want to do that work. They would rather settle for mediocrity.

The Solution

It is harder to continue losing money than it is to make money. Think about it. When you are losing money, you not only have the work to do but you also have the draining worries associated with losing money. How do you think I know that? The solution is to make up your mind to be prosperous.

Now assuming you are losing money or not making the money you want, how do you change that? The companies I work with follow a proven program for success. How do I know? It has taken quite a bit of time and experience to identify the fundamentals of running a business that everyone can follow each day. Part of the experience was finding the people who run successful companies.

If you are using the Internet as part of your marketing strategy, who are you following. Right up front: don’t follow me except when it comes to blogs then read my Blogging for Profit Series – it will help you. So who should you follow? I pay attention to people who are obviously successful. When I met John Reese and had my picture taken with him outside his Lamborghini I knew he had achieved a measure of success and was delighted to have that opportunity of meeting him. He was gracious is very focused on sharing what works for him. John understands there are not limits to the amount of money in the world and if John Reese makes $20 or $200 or $2000 million, there are still millions and even more you can make. I highly recommend John’s material.

In 1990. I was in Aspen Colorado at a three day summit for people running companies owned by an investment firm. The hosts of that meeting were two brothers whose net worth was at least multiple billions of dollars (yes that is a B). The learning curve for me at that time was fast and furious. I learned very successful people have a very clear definition of their business, the direction of their business and profit goals are clearly defined and the support structure necessary to achieve their business goals is soundly in place.

To The Point

Today at the start of every consulting project I reach agreement with the owners and management team on the definition of their business and the near term revenue and profit goals. We then move onto growth rates and setting the procedures and processes in place for achieving those goals.

This process is provided to everyone interested in the complimentary mini-course How To Increase Profits by 30% or More In 90 Days or Less (Register Here). This course is as relevant for internet marketers as it is for billion dollar companies.

It all starts with a clear definition of what you want and what you are prepared to do. Once you decide, follow a proven roadmap. Do you think it is coincidence this blog is named “Roadmap To Extraordinary Profits”? By the way, over time certain of the tools and techniques used in achieving extraordinary profits are refined. Like you I pay close attention to the tools and techniques developed by experts to help your business. I frequently mention the people who continue to help me with their training. The experts on my list are there because they help me based on my interests and my intent on using what I learn for myself and clients.

For those who say their business is Internet marketing I say your business has to be more clearly defined. Ed Dale is applying “the buy em and flip em model” for web sites and has evolved from a number of business models. I think Ed has a clear definition of his business but I can’t define it. Brad Fallon has a very traditional business model with search engine optimization as the engine. Frank Kern who may be an idiot savant, has a clear business model of monetizing small niche markets. Dan Kennedy is a copywriter and direct response marketing guru. Bill Glazer is an information marketer. Dan and Bill also run the college of direct response marketing through their newsletters, seminars and information products. Ken McCarthy is an educator. His System Seminar teaches people. Ken spends some of his time and resources on non-direct teaching but he loves to teach and does a great job doing so. I could go on but you get the point. Look at any person that you view as success and generally what business they are in is clear. Don’t reinvent the wheel. Have a clear definition of your business and a clear measurable goal for your business. Then measure the progress frequently.

I cannot emphasize enough the importance of measuring progress frequently . I develop a key factors report for every company I work with that tracks progress. For example in a retail business we track sales and gross margin trends. In the contracting industry we track flow of requests to bid and make sure bids submitted and ultimately the work completed tracks with the gross margin goals. In those industries and all others where I do work we always have an annual plan of revenue, margin and profit. Again this is detailed in the currently free course How To Increase Profits by 30% or More in 90 Days or Less

Avoid thinking tools are your business. The Internet, SEO, direct response marketing, copywriting, niche marketing, video, podcasts, autoresponders co-registration, infomercials, and more are tools. Recognize these are tools and continually ask yourself what are the tools that will really help your business the most. Then as others point out so well, what are the activities that need your skills and which ones should be outsourced.

Allot of times I write for my own benefit meaning it crystallizes my own thinking and in order to write about a topic you need to have a level of experience with the subject matter. This article for example originated because I have not personally focused on a clear definition of my own business and I have not completed a clear financial plan with action steps for myself. I am now doing this and I am optimistic this will be my best year ever (and I have had some really good years.)

I wish you prosperous health, happiness and abundance
